About Us
When Pastor Fred Gillenwater visited Russell Road Christian Center in 1999, he felt God was calling him to become the pastor there. After 22 years with a major corporation, Fred left to answer that call. This was Fred's first work in full time ministry. For 14 years he had been in an evangelistic ministry in prisons, churches and inner city tent meetings and had traveled to many other states to evangelize at other churches. He has been a part of Son Reign Ministries, a prison ministry, for 18 years, and served a five year period as President. In the year prior to coming to Russell Road Christian Center, Pastor Fred mentored a group of young people in a large local church. His evagelistic and teaching gifts have provided a means to minister in large crusade meetings, churches and Bible Colleges through Maranatha Ministries. Maranatha Ministries owns and sustains several orphanages within India.
Fred resides in Tipp City, Ohio. He has 2 grown children. His son Fredrick is an educator at Sinclair Community College and at Tipp City Jr. High. Fredrick is married to Sarah, who is a stay-at-home mom. Fredrick and Sarah have one daughter, Zada and one son, Finley. Pastor Fred's daughter, Angie, is currently employed by the U.S. government.
Pastor Fred has a Bachelor of Theology degree from Beacon University (Institute of Ministry). He has also finished a 5-year course of study at Methesco Theological School of Ohio (Seminary). Fred has also completed a chaplaincy school and is a certified chaplain through International Fellowship of Chaplains. He is trained in trauma, grief and loss as well as crisis and intervention.
Pastor Fred Gillenwater's gift to people is simple and profound. He is able to extract precepts, laws, and commands from the bible and apply them to complex issues and problems in people's lives. He's able to find powerful solutions to seemingly impossible problems and relate them to people in a practical and "easy to understand" manner. In times like these, finding a man like Pastor Fred is like a thirsty man finding a pool of cool, clear, drinking water in the desert.

Pastor Fred's passionate faith in Jesus Christ and his heart for evangelism touched many pre-churched people during his years at Ginghamsburg Church.

Of course I would be honored to comment about my good friend Fred Gillenwater. There are precious few people who I regard more highly than Pastor Fred. He has been a world-class christian for many years and now in the pastoral ministry, a tremendous influencer for the Kingdom of God. Fred is a trusted colleague and a great friend who always has Jesus on his mind. I am honored to call Pastor Fred my friend and respect his calling with the highest regard.
Because He said GO,
Dr. Patrick Murray
