John Silkauskas' Biography
My name is John Silkauskas and I have been saved by grace! I lived a life of foolishness, enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures for over 17 years of my life until I found the living Christ! He has taken my ashes and He has given me His beauty!
He has given me a purpose and a passion, which can be summed us as this: To know Him and to make Him known!
I have been so blessed to have the opportunity to receive an education. I graduated from Sinclair Community College with an Associate degree in Communications, and I now am finishing my Bachelor degree at Asbury College with a degree in Bible and Theology. I have had the opportunity to work with youth for the last seven years in many different facets which include counseling at Juvenile Detention Centers, preaching in many youth rallies and block parties, and ministering in many churches and in mission trips, leading discipleship groups, and co-founding the group G.S.P (Gospel Street Preachers), a gospel hip-hop group that has been able to minister to lots of youth in several states and countries! I have been able to accomplish many things through the grace of our Lord, and I cannot help but to thank Him for it all, recognizing that apart from Him I can do NOTHING!
I hope to help establish our teens in the Word and love of God. It is my desire to see them grow in confidence in their relationship with Christ so that they may know that in this ever changing world there is a God that loves them and is with them and He will never change! I desire to help them know God in a real way so that in every area of their lives outsiders can tell that God is with them. It is my goal to help them be about their "Father's business" and as they learn this, watch them simply REST in trusting that God will be about their business and take care of their desires and dreams. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with our youth and I truly believe that Sidney will never be the same! "Not to us, but to Your name be the glory, Oh Lord". (Psalm 115:1)
